Our thanks and appreciation go out to Marilyn Kronenberger and Carol Kania for a job well done on delivering the cartons of quilts and health kits. They were delivered to Middletown as it is the central pick-up point for Lutheran World Relief. Pounds and pounds of material first need to be cut and matched together, sewed and pinned, tackled and then sewed again to be finished as a quilt. We also put together health kits that need to be assembled containing wash cloths, hand towels, soap, comb, file, clippers and bandaids. They are banded together in a bundle for packing. Boxes are then packed, taped, weighed, labeled and brought to Middletown. All of it is a big job but for a worthwhile cause. The quilts and health kits are desperately needed. People that have been through tornadoes, earthquakes, floods, hurricanes and more use the quilts for a tent for shelter or warmth to sleep under or for carrying their meager belongings. The need for the health kits speak for itself. Once again, we invite you to join us or donate. This is a very worthwhile area of service to participate in.
